Another study suggests that small dust grains can collect enough water in only a million years, and this explains the large amount of water on Earth, because the age of the solar system is about 4.5 billion years.
This theory also may explain why there is water elsewhere within our solar system, for example Jupiter’s moon Europa has an ocean of water-frozen under its crust, and there are also plenty of water-frozen worlds in our solar system alone.
