Takeoff: The Migos Group Rapper Shot and Killed in Houston
A source close to the rap trio Migos confirmed to CNN that Takeoff, one-third of the platinum-selling group, was shot and died early on Tuesday in Houston, Texas. He was 28.

Around 2:34 a.m., police were alerted to a shooting that was taking place. Troy Finner, the chief of the Houston Police Department, stated as much during a news conference on Tuesday. When police got to the 810 Billiards & Bowling Houston, where a private party was taking place, they discovered a dead male on the premises.
A 23-year-old man and a 24-year-old woman were also hurt in the shooting. Also went to the hospital on their own, according to Sgt. Michael Arrington of the police department’s homicide branch. Their wounds weren’t life-threatening.
After the party finished, a sizable crowd gathered outside the building’s front door. Where employees claim a dispute broke out and resulted in the shooting. At the time of the incident, at least 40 persons were there, according to Finner.
According to Arrington, “several folks who were there fled the area and didn’t remain around to give a statement.”
The deceased man was identified by Finner as Kirshnik Khari Ball Better known by his stage name Takeoff of the rap trio Migos.
“I received numerous calls from Houston and from beyond Houston, and everyone spoke about what a young talented man he is, how calm he is, and what a fantastic artist (he is),” Finner said. She subsequently said that Takeoff was highly respected and nonviolent.
I wouldn’t have thought he would be involved. We don’t have any reason to think that he was engaged in any illegal activity at the time, Finner added.
The mother of Takeoff has been met with, according to Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner.
“It makes no difference how well-known you are. You could not even be well-known,” Turner suggested. Anyone who dies is a life gone, and as a result, there are friends and family members who are grieving.

The news of Takeoff’s passing was a shock to the hip-hop scene. Which was still reeling from the September shooting death of MC PnB Rock. Tuesday, celebrities paid tribute to Takeoff and shared their sorrow on social media.
After hearing the news, Gucci Mane, who just worked with Takeoff on the song “Us vs. Them,” posted on Instagram, “This crushed my heart.”
“This is awful. About a video that purports to show the shooting rapper just after he was killed, actress Keke Palmer wrote on Instagram: “From the tragedy of the killing to the tragedy of there being a footage of it online.” “I am truly sorry to his entire family and everyone he impacted. It is all so awful. incredibly awful
Rapper Ja Rule expressed his sorrow for the brutal killing of Takeoff on Twitter, writing, “This sh*t has to STOP… wishing my family and friends well.”
A statement was also posted on Twitter by the Atlanta Falcons.
The team announced that “Takeoff’s legacy lives on in Atlanta and throughout the world.”
2013 SAW THE DEBUT OF THE GROUP MIGOS
Takeoff, a rapper who was raised in Lawrenceville, Georgia, joined rappers Quavo and Offset to establish the group Migos in 2008. The group became well-known because of their 2013 single “Versace.”
With the release of their smash single “Bad and Boujee,” which featured fellow recording artist Lil Uzi Vert, their success further grew throughout 2016.
The song immediately gained popularity online and gave rise to numerous memes based on the words “rain drop, drop top.”
After “Atlanta” creator and star Donald Glover mentioned the tune during a victory speech at the 2017 Golden Globe Awards, the song received an even bigger boost.
At the time, Glover stated, “I want to thank the Migos, not for being on the show, but for making “Bad and Boujee.” As if it were the greatest song ever.
Recently, Takeoff and Quavo founded the band “Unc & Phew,” and on October 7, their debut album, “Only Built for Infinity Links,” was made available.
On Monday, their song “Messymusic “‘s video was made available.
Days before his passing, Takeoff accepted praise for his outstanding work on the new project during a recent interview on the podcast “Drink Champs.”
