Are You the Morning Person? Good News For You
One of the groups of people that people dislike the most is the morning person. You already know who I’m talking about: the person at work who waits for coworkers at the coffee machine and then starts shouting “Good morning!” So, what’s up?! They ask, “How was your weekend?” before their victim has even had a sip of liquid wake-up.
“Night owls,” which are more well-known, are the opposite of “larks.” But it’s not the lark’s fault that they like to get up early and start their day when (or even before) the sun comes up.
And if you are that person, here are seven things you and other larks will understand:
1. You are happy when you wake up

People who don’t like getting up early don’t get why you do it. In fact, a study from 2012 at the University of Toronto found that people who like to get up early are, on average, happier than other people.
Scientists think it might be because you wake up naturally after a good night’s sleep instead of forcing yourself to get up and be productive when your body isn’t ready.
2. Your morning happiness stays with you all-day
A morning person is ready to go as soon as the sun comes up, but a cranky night owl needs a gallon of coffee to get going. This keeps going all day.
A study showed that, on average, morning people are nicer and more responsible than night people. Maybe that’s why you’re so noticeable at work?!
3. No need to ring the bell
People who have trouble with their alarms post memes about it on social media, but you don’t get it. Sure, you’ve set an alarm, just in case.
But that is not what gets you out of bed in the morning. Ten minutes before your external alarm goes off, your internal alarm has already woken you up and gotten you ready for the day.
4. You love getting up early to exercise.
Much fewer larks drink, smoke, or use other stimulants. On the other hand, people who go to bed late may gain weight.
Either you don’t smoke or drink because getting up early makes you happy, or you don’t smoke or drink because getting up early makes you happy.
A workout in the morning can set the tone for the rest of the day and make you feel good about yourself. The same stone can kill two birds. One stone that wakes up every day very happy.
5. You know that time and silence are gold
If you get up very early, you don’t have to share the world with anyone. When it’s just you and real birds enjoying the quiet of the morning, there’s something peaceful and comforting about it.
You don’t have to be in a hurry to get breakfast, pack a lunch, and juggle your car keys, kids, and pets. Just… silence.
6. You Get Stuff Done
Science backs up the fact that you get up early and start your day right away. You shouldn’t put off chores, errands, or workouts because you don’t know what to do or don’t want to.
If you know you should do something, you do it and move on. All day long, you do this.
7. You couldn’t stay in bed even if you wanted to
“Sleeping in” for people who get up early means getting up no later than 8 a.m. Weekends spent sleeping until noon? You just can’t relate.
Time spent in bed is time lost for larks. It feels more like a punishment than a weekend treats to sleep in on the weekends.
So let the people who like to stay up late roll their eyes at you in the morning. You, too, lark, know why mornings are the best.
