Jets WR Coach Suspended: Robert Saleh Bucks Zack Wilson

The New York Jets suffered a fourth straight loss on Thursday night with a 19-3 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars. And they were hit with some particularly bad news on Friday.
JETS WR COACH SUSPENDED, ROBERT SALEH BUCKS ZACK WILSON

The Jets were without wide receiver coach Myles Austin in Thursday’s game because the team announced before the game that the former NFL wideout would not be able to practice. Assistant offensive coach Mack Brown assumed game-day duties.
NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reported Friday that Austin was suspended by the NFL for violating the league’s gambling policy. Austin is appealing the indefinite suspension for at least a year.
The former Pro Bowl wide receiver has reportedly never played in an NFL game, and instead, Austin will be at the table his game, betting on “professional his sports outside the NFL,” according to his agent. was
However, NFL coaches and staff are prohibited from betting on sports, NFL or otherwise. Players, on the other hand, can bet on other sports for whatever reason. Austin has been the Jets’ wide receiver coach for the last two seasons and was previously the San Francisco 49ers’ offensive quality control coach.
ROBERT SALEH SHOWS SUPPORT FOR ZACH WILSON.
Jets head coach Robert Saleh was predictably greeted by a good portion of Zach Wilson’s questioning when he told the media on Friday — that he’s the former for 27-year-old QB Chris Streveler. The day after placing second overall on the bench.
When asked if Wilson was still the future QB, Saleh replied with the politically correct answer, “We support all of our players.”
“We don’t abandon anyone. Saleh told reporters that Wilson’s biggest problem right now is a lack of trust and they still believe in him as a player and as a person. But while Saleh may say the right things at these press conferences, his actions speak louder. The Jets have just benched Wilson for a journeyman practice team quarterback who can barely throw a 30-yard pass ahead of the season. The trust and faith they had in Wilson were lost at that moment.
The Jets may not have given up on Zach Wilson verbally, but mentally they’re moving forward at this point. You’re looking to the future.
No NEWS REGARDING MIKE WHITE’S INJURY
Saleh was also asked if the Jets had an update on the status of Mike White. Who missed two straight games Thursday with a rib injury. Unfortunately, we were unable to provide an update.
Saleh also did not specify whether White would be the starter again if allowed to return. If White is healthy, he will play. Wilson’s performance on Thursday night solidified that idea As Week 17 draws nearer. The Jets will wait for more information on White’s condition.
