A TEXAS TWO-STEP ON THE HIGHWAY:

The Warriors will travel to Texas for two games in two days after finishing a 6-1 homestand. However, the Warriors’ road trip kicks out on Tuesday in Houston. While there they’ll face a Rockets squad they last met on Jan. 21,  Stephen Curry hit a game-winning jumper with seconds left. The win was the first in the Dubs’ current five-game winning run, and they’ll be aiming for a season sweep of the Rockets after winning their first two head-to-head matchups, both at Chase Center, this season.

TIME TO GO OUT FOR THE FINAL TIME: Warrior vs Rockets:

In Saturday’s 110-106 win over the Nets at Chase Center, Klay Thompson hit all three of his shots in the fourth quarter, including a 3-pointer with 12.1 seconds left to put the Dubs up four. The Dubs won their sixth consecutive game, with Andrew Wiggins scoring 24 points and Stephen Curry scoring 14 of his 19 points in the fourth quarter.

STEPPING UP FOR THE PORTER

Draymond Green’s presence in the lineup has been sorely missed by the Warriors in the last three weeks. The development of Otto Porter Jr., though, is a silver lining in Green’s absence. The Warriors have won their last five games, and the veteran forward has been a constant source of productivity during that time. Porter has scored in double figures in each of his previous five games. It gives an average of 13.0 points on 59.5% shooting from the field and 45.0 percent from the range of 3-point. Porter has been a presence on both sides of the ball, setting a career-best with four blocks in Saturday’s win over Brooklyn. Porter’s flexibility is paying off for the Warriors, as he is a 6-foot-8 forward who can guard several positions and score from the perimeter as well as in the paint.

SEARCH REPORT FOR HOUSTON

The Rockets have dropped three straight games, the first of which came on the game-winning Stephen Curry shot at Chase Center on Jan. 21. Despite having the poorest record in the Western Conference, Houston has put up a good fight against the Warriors this year. Jae’Sean Tate, a second-year forward, has averaged 15.5 points per game this season against the Warriors, and Christian Wood, the team’s best scorer and rebounder, had 19 points and 15 rebounds in his most recent game against the Warriors. Six Rockets players, including veteran guard Eric Gordon, are in double figures, led by Wood. The Warriors’ longstanding foe ranks fourth in 3-point shooting percentage (43.9%), and he’s a big reason why the Rockets are 9-3 in games decided by six points or less this season.
