Roman Abramovich’s Intentions Of Selling Chelsea

Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich revealed his intention o sell Chelsea. This news hit just less than a week after Russia invaded Ukraine. Several people expressed interest in finding out how this has a connection with Russian President Vladimir Putin. Furthermore, people searching how the government might punish him as a result of the incident.

Because of Abramovich’s ties to Russian President Vladimir Putin, Chelsea may suffer as a result of public attention. Therefore,  preparing for Saturday’s Carabao Cup Final, Thomas Tuchel issued the following comment on his team.

Russian President Vladimir Putin instructed his country to invade Ukraine on February 24. Subsequently, Putin followed up with another statement three days later. Following that, we saw the imposition of sanctions on Russian investors who had commercial ties to the Russian leader.

Abramovich’s Statement

“Clubs hold a special place in my heart. When I make decisions on their behalf, I always consider what is best for the club as a whole first”.This he said on March 2, according to the press. So, because of the current state of affairs, I chose to sell the club, and I’m going to do so.

We would plan for the future while also making a meaningful contribution to our communities. Chelsea FC should be watched over by those who work for the team and its supporters at this time, so I’ve delegated this responsibility to the trustees of Chelsea’s charitable foundation “Yes, I believe so”.

A New Setup of charitable foundation:

“Another thing my team should do is establish a charitable organization to which we will give all of the proceeds from the sale in a donation. This is something I’ve also instructed them to do. This organization will assist anyone who gets injured as a result of the conflict in Ukraine. Additionally, this involves providing money to people who are in immediate need of assistance. It would explicitly assist them in getting back on their feet in the long run.”

The 55-year-old decided to immediately transfer ownership of Chelsea FC to the trustees of the club’s charitable foundation, allowing them to take care of the club’s business. The trustees were not immediately supportive of the relocation.

Abramovich, according to a report published in the New York Times earlier this month, had requested that the Raine Group, a New York-based consulting firm, communicate with anyone who could be interested in purchasing his company.
