In 2024, Charlie Cox is scheduled to resume his role as Daredevil. It turned out that the rumors were accurate. At the San Diego Comic-Con in 2022, it was revealed that Charlie Cox would reprise his role as Daredevil in an upcoming television series. What should you anticipate, and when can you expect to see it?

The release date for Daredevil: Born Again

Daredevil: Born Again is scheduled to premiere in the spring of 2024, and an initial run of 18 episodes has been commissioned.

Between 2015 and 2018, the first three seasons of the live-action Daredevil series that was produced by Netflix aired, for the purpose of comparison, a total of 39 episodes.

The plot of Daredevil: Born Again has been kept completely under wraps up until this point. The title, on the other hand, can give anything away.

Yes, “Born Again” may just be an allusion to the fact that a program that had been canceled has been revived from the grave. But it also happens to have the same name as a plot that takes place in issues #227-231.

Born Again is one of the grimmest storylines in the comic, and if it were adapted for the big screen, it would be more intense than anything else the Marvel Cinematic Universe has brought to the big screen so far. Den of Geek explores this in more detail in a new tab.

The story arc of the comic is on Karen Page betraying Daredevil to Kingpin in exchange for drug money. Kingpin makes advantage of this knowledge to wreak havoc on Matt Murdock’s life, causing him to become destitute, homeless, and lose the desire to live. Daredevil finally forms an alliance with Captain America in order to combat the supersoldier Nuke after assisting Karen in kicking her drug habit.

As the site points out, some of the narrative arc’s plot aspects have already been used by Netflix; nonetheless, there is still a significant amount of material available for the new series to exploit, provided that it is not considered to be excessively so.

Only Charlie Cox (Daredevil) and Vincent D’Onofrio (Kingpin) have been named as permanent cast members for the program as of yet.

Deborah Ann Woll may or may not return to her part as Karen Page depending on the outcome of the investigation into the aforementioned plot idea; however, there is no evidence to support either possibility at this time.

The initial run of Daredevil was canceled in 2018 after three seasons, however, the termination of the show by Netflix is most likely not due to declining viewership data. Rather, it was probably because Disney had begun attempting to collect together all of its Marvel assets for its very own streaming service, which was going to be called Disney Plus.

As Vincent D’Onofrio, who portrays Kingpin, stated in a January interview with the Marvel News Desk podcast (opens in a new tab), “You know, at the same time the group #SaveDaredevil started to rise, we started to learn the reasons why that happened and so we understood what Marvel was doing because Disney Plus coming out.”

Because of this, the new series will only be available on Disney Plus, but you’ll still be able to view the previous three seasons of the series on Netflix.

Why was there such a large break in between the two shows? According to Variety, once the show was canceled, the cast members were barred from appearing in any films or television shows that were not produced by Netflix for a period of two years. Now that the clock has struck midnight, it’s possible that Daredevil and Kingpin may appear in a far larger number of episodes than was previously indicated…
