To commemorate the imminent premiere of the documentary Still Working 9 to 5, Dolly Parton and Kelly Clarkson collaborated on a touching performance of Parton’s renowned 1980 hit song, “9 to 5.”

The Grammy Award-winning singers were aiding on the revamped single by the documentary’s executive producer and songwriter Shane McAnally. It includes singer-songwriter Sasha Alex Sloan, and producer King Henry. The song changes the original country-tinged hymn into a quiet. Dream pop ballad that underscores the grief and suffering lingering within Parton’s words. 

“Nobody sings like Kelly Clarkson,” Parton stated about the song in a statement. 

“She can bring any music to life.” “I love her voice on ‘9 to 5.’ and I’m so glad I got to sing alongside her on it.” 

Clarkson emphasized her enthusiasm at working with the country music legend in a separate statement. “I am very pleasing that Dolly asked me to recreate this famous song, ‘9 to 5,’ with her!” “She is extremely creative, an inspiration to all women, and one of the loveliest persons you will ever meet,” she remarked. “I hope you appreciate what we accomplished. But even if you don’t, remember I got to perform a duet with the legendary Dolly Parton. Also now have bragging rights until the end of time!”

 Still Working 9 to 5 will reunite the cast of the 1980s film, including All of the above. A group of famous singers include Stars including Dolly Parton, Jane Fonda, Lily Tomlin, and Dabney Coleman, as well as actress Rita Moreno. Who appeared in the TV comedy based on the film. The documentary, which premiered at SXSW in March. It has already made an impression on the festival circuit, with Variety calling it “amusing” and “provocative.”
