Of course, whether or not he’s playing has a huge impact on some key players, so until we have an update on his status, we won’t commit to an imaginative ‘start and sit’ decision. WILL JUSTIN HERBERT PLAY IN WEEK 3?

Chris Mortensen reports Sunday morning that the Chargers’ medical staff want Herbert to take a “long-term view.” He seems to be more of a “seasonal decision” than originally thought.

After only limited training on Wednesday and Thursday, Herbert (Rib) was absent on Friday. Normally, this would be a concern, but giving that Los Angeles holding out four major veterans on Friday, it could be a positive sign. At this point, he looks likely to face the Jaguars, but even if things are heading in the right direction, NFL Network reporter Ian Rapoport says Friday that Herbert is “still out of the woods.” It don’t come out,” he reports.

Fantasy owners are nervous giving the Chargers’ late-afternoon kickoff, but  Herbert looks safe in the lineup. Against a so-so Jaguars defense So, he’s still a solid QB1, especially since Keenan Allen (hamstring) is expect to return. As long as he starts, he should start for you.

WEEK 3 STANDARD LEADERBOARD:

If he surprises his scratch, he should wait for his QB late in the game/prime time. In most singles QB leagues now, Waver his option is  Chase Daniel (vs. Jaguars), Marcus Mariota (@Seahawks), Genno Smith (vs Falcons), Jimmy Garoppolo (@Denver), Daniel Jones (vs Cowboys),  Cooper Rush (@Giants). Mariota has the best floor in this group, but either Mariota or Smith has the highest ceiling for the matchup. There’s a chance, Daniel – but let’s hope.
