The Lakers had excellent energy the entire game, but they only shot 20 percent from outside the arc while holding the Clippers to just 103 points. Walker had a strong night and led the Lakers with 26 points, but it wasn’t what made the difference on this particular occasion. Lonnie Walker, though, claims that there remained optimism in the Lakers’ locker room despite their team’s second straight defeat to begin the season.

Walker remarked after the Lakers’ six-point setback, “We’re right there.” Furthermore, “I believe there was some optimism in the locker room today, even though we lost. We’ve only been playing together for a short while, but the last two teams we’ve faced have been playing together for perhaps four or five years. That, therefore, says a lot about our playing style. We simply need to keep stacking the days, have faith in the system, have faith in our teammates, and play the way we do.

For the most part, the Lakers’ shooting problems were not causing by poor shots. The open shots that any team would want were producing by the attacking scheme of Darvin Ham, but they were not converting. Walker said, “Keep shooting,” when questioned about the remark following yet another horrific shooting night. We’re still getting to know one another. We just need to keep shooting and do so confidently even though we had amazing looks and great shots.

The Lakers are shooting a dismal 22.4 percent from 3-point range through two games, a record that cannot be maintain for the remainder of the season. The offense for this squad would drastically change even if they improved to the league average.

Walkers added, “Just be aggressive on both ends of the court. “I’m not here to win by a wide margin. Just trying to get downhill and support my teammates. I’m just here to offer energy, be a defender, and be more of an athletic guard. Just playing the proper way and playing hard will get AD some simple buckets.

Moral wins don’t truly exist for a team like the Lakers because winning championships is the standard. Ham was nonetheless quite pleasing with how his squad playing against the Clippers.

Ham exclaimed, “I’m super duper proud of our boys, they competes.” “I believe there has been growing between Games One and Two, particularly on the defensive side.  People are gushing about that gigantic ballclub in the locker room, and they are highly regarding for good reason. And the way we persevered helped to turn the situation into a game. Even when we fell behind and were unable to catch up.

“Determining what our culture and environment will be like is determining what identity building is all about. I could have done things a little bit better, so I’m disappointing with the defeat. However, we are still moving accurately.
