Saudi Arabia Defeated Lionel Messi-led Argentina

On Tuesday, in both sides’ opening game at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, Saudi Arabia defeated Lionel Messi-led Argentina by a score of 2-1. This result gave the exclusively the upset of the competition up to this point, and it puts one of the tournament’s favorites in real danger of an early exit.

Doha’s streets are filled with singing and dancing by Saudi supporters.

Usaid Siddiqui from Al Jazeera is currently observing Saudi supporters as they continue their celebrations into the night. They are currently moving their bodies on Lusail Boulevard to the tune of Khaled’s “C’est La Vie,”. It is however playing in the background.
