Book Name: Forty Rules Of Love – Elif Shafaq
Introduction:
A picture-perfect life is what Ella Rubenstein was living. To everyone she was. The reality was far from perfect. An unfaithful husband, 3 kids. she needed a spark in her life. She was desperate for one. Who knew a piece of the script called “Sweet Blasphemy” could change her life forever. Her first assignment is a novel intriguingly titled Sweet Blasphemy, about the thirteenth-century poet Rumi and his beloved Sufi teacher Shams of Tabriz.
The author, Aziz Zahara, is an unknown first-time novelist who lives in Turkey. Initially reluctant to take on a book with such a title and about a time and some people so strange to her, the spark Ella waited desperately for came in the form of a script. Soon she finds herself captivated both by the novel and the man who wrote it, with whom it started with a few innocent flirtatious emails. She begins to question the many ways how she has settled for a conventional life devoid of passion and genuine love.
My Review
Is it possible to fall in love with a book? No?. This book has everything a reader could ask for. Drama, romance, a bit of action and most of it all inspired me to become a better person. But, like Ella, I started to question what love genuinely is. As by the title, this book contains 40 rules of love. Rules of love to finally and ultimately love God. Each rule took my breath away and made me question my faith in my own religion. there was so much I had doubts about. After each”Rule” I had to close the book and actually process what I just read. this book is amazing. It’s not your typical cheesy romantic novel. No, it’s much more than that. It’s about the love of God, love with all the things He created, all the bonds He creates.
My Final Thoughts
I definitely recommend this book. this is the type of book you just can’t put down. here I read it about 5-6 times and will still read it again. I read this book so many times .each time, I felt as if I was reading it for the first time.
