Argentina – 1978:

In 1978, Argentina won their first World Cup when they beat the Netherlands 3-1 in overtime. Mario Kempes and Daniel Bertoni scored the goals that won the game. The score was 1-1 after 90 minutes.

France 2018:

France, led by Didier Deschamps, won their second title by beating Croatia 4-2 in the final in Moscow. They went the whole tournament without losing, and their 4-3 win over Argentina in the last 16 was one of the best games in World Cup history.

Italy – 1982:

Italy won its third World Cup in 1982, tying them with Brazil as the most successful country in World Cup history. In Madrid, they defeated West Germany by a score of 3-1 to win the World Cup. Dino Zoff, who was their goalie and captain and was 40 years old at the time, holds the record for being the oldest player to win the World Cup. Both the Golden Boot and the Golden Ball were awarded to Paolo Rossi. Moreover, the player who finished the competition with the most goals scored was honored with the Golden Boot award.

Spain in 2010:

Spain’s tiki-taka team was significantly fun to watch and gave the country its first win. They lost their first group game against Switzerland, but then they beat everyone else easily. In the end, Andres Iniesta’s goal in extra time helped them beat the Netherlands 1-0 in the final.

West Germany – 1990:

This was the third and last time West Germany won the World Cup. In October 1990, the country was reunified. People often say that the final against Argentina, which West Germany won 1-0 thanks to a penalty by Andreas Brehme, was one of the shadiest and low-quality. They didn’t lose a game the whole tournament, but it took penalties for them to beat England in the semifinals.

France – 1998:

Brazil – 1970:
